2015 & 2016 State Champions, non-musical division
Crosspoint's first cheerleading squad started with only a few girls in high school. Today the squad has grown to a full team of enthusiastic girls spanning grades 7-12. The goal for Crosspoint cheerleading is to develop the fundamentals of cheering while adding elements of stunt routines and dance. Crosspoint cheerleaders participate in the MCSAA State Tournament every year in Joplin, where they have won multiple awards. More recently, the 2014-2015 squad took first place in the non-musical division at the State Tournament. You can find Crosspoint cheerleaders rallying school spirit at girls and boys home basketball games.
About the Coach
Head Cheer Coach
Julie Zeitzmann has been cheering the Cougars from the sidelines ever since becoming a Crosspoint parent. Coach Zeitzmann started working with the girls' cheer squad as an assistant in 2014, becoming head cheer coach in 2015. She considers it a privilege to train these young ladies in promoting school spirit. "Cheering builds self-confidence," she says. "I hope to help build that self-confidence, and I look forward to helping the girls grow as both cheerleaders and individuals."
