Track is a fairly young sport at Crosspoint -- the 2011-2012 season was the starter school year for fielding a track team. Head Coach Melinda Young is pleased to report that, in spite of being the fledgling school, Crosspoint continues to perform well at the State Tournaments and currently holds the Girls Discus State Champion title. Coach Young says individual athletes are showing improvement in their events as they ready for the new season. We look forward to seeing these athletes build Crosspoint's newest team into a strong competitor!
About the Coaches
Head Track Coach
Melinda Young began coaching at Crosspoint in 2013 when she became head track coach. In 2014, she also took on the position of head volleyball coach. She received a bachelor of arts degree in recreation and leisure studies from Missouri State University. Her previous coaching experience includes coaching volleyball through Rockwood Community Education from 2009-2012. Young says she coaches because, "I love to work with young people and encourage them to do their best. I have always loved high school athletics and the lessons the athletes learn from sports."
