Secondary School Graduation Requirements

Crosspoint Christian School has three tracks of requirements for graduation. Each prepares students for success after high school. Students may choose from among the various classes offered in subjects where additional classes are available.

Crosspoint's Middle School builds on the foundational skills of reading, writing and mathematics developed in elementary grades and challenges students to begin thinking critically.

Bible Classes continue to shape a distinctively Biblical worldview while also beginning to examine the ways that others perceive the world.

A+ Program Details

Missouri legislators expanded the A+ Program in 2016 to include non-public high schools.

Students who graduate from an A+ designated high school may qualify for a state-paid financial incentive to attend any public community college or any public career or technical school in Missouri. Some private career and technical schools are also A+ eligible. In addition, an ever-growing number of four-year institutions are offering institutionally funded incentives for students who meet A+ criteria.

How Do I Qualify?

  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

  • Enter into a written agreement with your high school prior to graduation.

  • Attend a designated A+ high school for 2 years prior to graduation.1

  • Graduate from an A+ designated high school with an overall unweighted grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

  • Have at least a 95% attendance record overall for grades 9-12.

  • Perform at least 50 hours of unpaid tutoring or mentoring, of which up to 25% may include job shadowing prior to graduation. 2

  • Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the unlawful use of drugs and/or alcohol while in grades 9-12.

  • Have achieved a score of proficient or advanced on the Algebra I end of course exam or a higher level DESE approved end-of-course exam in the field of mathematics.3

Please refer to the Missouri Department of Education's A+ Scholarship Program website for complete state requirements.

Please refer to Crosspoint's A+ Handbook for more information about the school's requirements for student involvement while attending Crosspoint.

What?! I'm Supposed to Read This Summer??

We hope you are having a great summer!

More importantly, we hope you are reading! Reading and understanding what you read are essential parts of academic life. Also, reading is the most important way you can prepare for college entrance exams. As a result, we have a summer reading program that constitutes the first English grade you will receive this fall. The summer book report forms are included below along with the reading list. Use the form that applies to the grade you are entering this fall, not the grade you have just completed, and fill out the form after you have finished your selected book. If you wish to read a book by an author not listed, please contact your teacher to receive approval before you begin reading. This book report is worth 100 points and will be collected in your English/literature class on the first day of school. You may print out the book report form more than once if you wish to read additional books over and above the required book. Additional book reports may be submitted for a limited amount of extra credit.

Several of the area public libraries offer summer reading programs with prizes (often gift cards) for teens who complete their requirements. Consider joining one (or more) of these programs!

Please note: In order to receive the full benefit of this summer reading program, read books you haven't read before! Try new authors! You may discover a new author that you really enjoy (we do ourselves)! Obviously, we won't know most of the time if you've read a specific book prior to this summer, but we certainly know if it's part of our standard curriculum and therefore you've read it in one of our classes in a previous year. Summer book reports on such books will not receive credit!
